Humanitarian Experience Presents…
The core HXP experience. If you’re familiar with our organization, this is probably the experience you’ve heard about!
The hardest and best summer of your life. Build is the new designation for our classic trips that you know and love! On a build trip you will serve the local people through building sustainable infrastructure—usually a school or medical facility. Beginning in summer 2021 we opened stateside trips for 14-16 year-olds. Here on our website, you can explore the specific projects for each trip. In addition to a project, each Build trip includes incredible sight-seeing experiences unique to each location! At Humanitarian Experience we work hard and play hard! Come make life-long friendships, do meaningful service, and have unforgettable adventures. Build yourself by building others.
(SUMMIT TRIPS NOT AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2024)
This experience was formerly know as Youth Summit Jerusalem (YSJ). In 2023, Summit trips will be held in Jerusalem (16 to 19 year olds) and Palmyra (for 14 to 16 year olds). Summit’s mission is to help youth develop leadership skills and engage in faith-based discussions that will deepen their testimonies and learn more about the history of Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These trips go deep and they’ll change your life in ways you’ll never forget.
Summit: Embrace the Challenge
Summit Jerusalem – Deepen your relationship with God as you walk where the Savior performed His earthly ministry. Learn about ancient Israel, modern-day scripture, and what God has in store for you now. Grow in understanding as you explore other faiths’ holy sites and experience their traditions; then, build bridges of love across cultural and religious divides by learning more from those followers of other faiths. Gain new perspectives on conflict resolution by getting an inside look into the most complex conflict of our time. Stretch your comfort zone in faith and testimony.
Summit Palmyra – Build your faith by visiting historical sites of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints back East. Feel the power of the Restoration and grow a deep love and admiration for the early Saints by touring the monumental sites that God had prepared for the return of His priesthood. Grow a deeper relationship with Christ as you disconnect from the world and spend 10 days focused on eternal truths.
Humanitarian Experience Presents…
This experience was formerly known as Youth Refugee Coalition (YRC). In 2016, Humanitarian XP began partnering with YRC to conduct trips amongst refugees, and it was later absorbed it into our organization. You and your group will go into refugee camps around the world and help people who have been displaced from their homes by war or economic hardship. The mission of Refuge XP is to provide an opportunity for youth to respond to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints call to participate in the assistance of refugees around the world.
Refuge: Find Joy in the Journey
Learn to truly love your fellow man by serving those who have recently lost everything. Provide new opportunities and restore a sense of purpose to refugees forced from their homes, communities, and families. Gain an increased understanding of what it means to be an informed and empathetic global citizen as you cross cultural boundaries and participate in new customs and traditions. Step out of your comfort zone by daily interacting with people of foreign lands, languages and faiths. Find the deeper sense of meaning described by Elder Kearon when he shared that “ministering to these [refugees] so immediately in need provides the richest, most fulfilling experience” to those who serve.
Humanitarian Experience Presents…
This is the newest addition to the suite of HXP experiences. Serve local people through conversation as you share your English language skills. Experience the call to “become acquainted with all good books, and with languages, tongues, and people” described in D&C 90:15 as you develop close friendships with the students you work with. The mission of TEACH is to foster learning and understanding cross-culturally as we interact with diverse individuals.
TEACH: Bridge the Gap
Build up the local youth and seek knowledge as you participate in a cultural exchange while serving as an English instructor. This year, our focus will be in Japan where Builders will partner with a boarding school for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that focuses on preparing to qualify for admission to colleges in the United States.
