Kenya Masai Mara
Classroom Construction

This year, Builders constructed a primary school in Nairobi by building additional classroom blocks and bathrooms. The local primary school has almost 3,500 students and did not have nearly enough space to accommodate them all, coping with major overcrowding and the inability to admit any new students who don’t have the opportunity to enroll in any schools nearby. By building these additional structures, the primary school has more space for students to learn and has more sanitary bathrooms for both students and teachers.
Malawi: Heart of Africa
Classroom Construction

In order to accommodate as many children as possible, schools in Malawi run on a track system; this means students only attend school for a few hours each day. Even with the track system, students are packed in a classroom with only one teacher and 60-100 students. HXP Builders helped to alleviate this problem this year by constructing additional classrooms for a local primary school. The new classrooms give students a conducive environment for learning which reduces classroom congestion, absenteeism, and the dropout rate.
Malawi: Refuge
Bakery Within the Refugee Camp

Builders on the Refuge: Malawi trip worked among thousands of refugees from nearby African countries. Beyond ministering and loving so many displaced people, Builders constructed a bakery within the refugee camp. Not only will this bakery be used to produce and distribute food to those in need, but it will also provide 50 job opportunities for refugees, giving them opportunities to earn money for themselves and develop skills for the future.
“The 2024 Humanitarian Experience project means so much to me as an individual and as a community in so many ways. This project has changed the infrastructure and improved the livelihood of the workers since they’ve been able to have jobs. As an individual, it has helped me to learn how working together as a team can improve lives by bringing resources together. The sacrifices made by HXP and the builders are a great blessing. These 2024 builders mean so much to me. Not only have I found friends in them but also brothers and sisters who have helped me to learn more about sacrifice and God’s Love. Their dedication and willingness to give their best have taught me, selfless love. These builders are Angels on Earth. Those that show up when needed the most.
I have personally been strengthened by their spirituality and desire to be better disciples of Jesus Christ. They’ve made me want to do more and be better. I love them so much. I tried to learn everyone’s name and it made me feel more connected to them. These builders are great future missionaries. My love for them can not be traded for anything. They’re the best thing that has happened to me this year. They’re a Miracle!”

Classroom Construction

The first 3 trips of builders expanded an elementary school near the city of Matola. Currently, hundreds of students are attending school, but they have to participate underneath trees in the shade. When it rains, they have no other option but to go home, and their education is stilted as a result. Builders constructed two classrooms that will ensure 360 of those children can go to school year-round, even during monsoon season (the before is pictured on the left). The locals are able to fundraise and finish this school for their community. Builders were able to make huge progress on the school and it will be exciting to see when it is finished and the effect it can have on the community! HXP was thrilled to help start an amazing project.
Unfortunately due to visa and government complications, the last two trips got rerouted to Malawi, Blantyre, and built 2 bathroom blocks. Each group was able to build a bathroom block from start to finish! The school has a total of 50 teachers and 2970 students who all share 16 bathrooms. The inadequacy of toilets has been a challenge since they are very unhygienic. With the new bathroom buildings, there will be improved health and performance for learners and teachers(the after of one of these blocks is pictured on the right).
“Humanitarian experience timely toilet project is a blessing to us. This project will improve hygiene at Catholic Institute School. The school management, parents, and the community are really grateful as more learners will not shun classes due to poor sanitation hence, improved health and performance for learners learners, as learners will not wait for so long to queue for bathroom breaks.
As a local coordinator, I am very thankful to HXP builders for all your support and love in changing lives. You are special angels sent to the Blantyre community to improve sanitation for primary children. You will forever be in our hearts, your teamwork and hardworking spirit have left a forever mark on us.
Stay blessed.
May God bless America.
God bless Malawi”

Uganda Nile River
Classroom Construction

Current classroom sizes in schools in Uganda range from 140-170 students per classroom, not allowing for personalized learning experiences and decreasing the overall effectiveness of elementary-level learning. HXP Builders constructed additional classrooms for a primary school in a small village in Uganda- this school is the only option for most of the community and is extremely overcrowded. As a result, 180 students, (current and prospective), benefit from educational opportunities and a more effective learning environment.
“This summer we manage to accomplish a lot of things in this project of 2024 and it has been a great experience for me and the builders. This project means a lot to me. I learn how to serve the community and I learn to love people and also to interact with community. The community is so much in love with the project, they keep asking me which kind of people from miles and miles away from them can be there and think about their problems, So basically entirely to me the project means love I look at it in that angle. The builders what they mean to me it is a sign of a big sacrifice. I learn from them that sacrificing is very important even when you don’t have, you have to sacrifice, sometimes money and time are important things in our lives, but if we decide to sacrifice all that is a sign of loving people. What I would like to say is to send my warm appreciation to the builders of 2024 for the love and the sacrifice that they have put in to improve the situation in Uganda in particular and the communities that have benefited in this project. Thank you so much. may God bless you and reward you abundantly.”

Zimbabwe
Classroom Construction

Currently, over 67% of Zimbabwe’s school children do not have access to quality education. The education system in Zimbabwe struggles to facilitate learning due to a lack of essential resources. This leads to large numbers of children dropping out. In efforts to help with this social issue, HXP Builders constructed additional classrooms for a primary school. These classrooms are being used as new areas for learning due to the lack of space and overcrowded classrooms that the school was previously experiencing. With more classroom space, more students throughout the community are attending school for the first time and current students are able to learn more effectively.
Cambodia Angkor Wat
Classroom Construction

Builders on the Cambodia Angkor Wat trip this summer constructed two additional classrooms at a local primary school. Over 10% of children in Cambodia still lack access to education following the mass genocide in the 1970s. The two classrooms that were constructed doubled both the size of the current school as well as the number of children that can attend.
Cambodia Siem Reap
Classroom Construction

In Cambodia, Builders constructed two additional classrooms for a local school. The current school is functioning with walls made out of bamboo sticks, forcing students to sit in puddles of water when it rains. These classrooms will provide a safer, more comfortable environment for students to learn in and increase the quality and quantity of education received in the community.
India
Women’s Resource Center Construction

This summer, HXP Builders constructed a community and training center to serve local women living in rural villages. The center brings women of all backgrounds together, regardless of caste and religion. The female-run training center directly impacts the women of the village to be eligible for training and employment by helping them gain and cultivate skills that will benefit them in the workforce.
“The 2024 project of building the community hall has been more than just a construction effort—it has been a transformative experience for the entire village. This community hall represents a beacon of hope and empowerment, especially for the women in our community. It is a space where they can come together, learn, grow, and develop the skills needed to become self-sufficient and sustainable. The hall also serves as a cherished place for the village to gather, celebrate, and strengthen the bonds that unites the community
Each builder who contributed to this project brought their unique skills, passion, and energy, creating something truly remarkable. The Builders who dedicated their time and energy to this project have not just built a structure; they’ve built a foundation for a brighter future for the community. Their commitment and passion have left a lasting impact on our community, and I am incredibly grateful to each one of them.
To all the HXP 2024 Builders: Your work has created a space that will continue to nurture and empower the community for years to come. Your efforts have made a real difference, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to make this dream a reality. Together, we have built something that will stand as a testament to the strength and resilience of our community. We can’t thank you enough in words, this means a lot more than it.”

Indonesia Bali
Learning Center Construction

In Indonesia, 70% of the population lives in rural areas in poverty. Education is the first defense for the future against poverty, so this summer Builders constructed a children’s learning center for disadvantaged children. The kids who benefit from this construction project are severely at risk due to a lack of education and unemployment in the area. HXP has partnered with a local university that will send university students to teach skills and tutor the local children. The work HXP Builders did this summer will have a generational impact on the community.
Indonesia Jakarta
Medical and Dental Clinic Construction

Years ago, a large typhoon wiped out the only healthcare facility in a rural town near Jakarta, depriving the locals of the medical care they needed for years. Builders on the Indonesia Jakarta trip constructed a medical and dental clinic, which provides essential care to hundreds of local families. This drastically improves their quality of life and makes healthcare more affordable, cutting out the costs of travel to receive it like before.
Japan: Teach
Japan Teach

HXP Builders in Japan built friendships, relationships, and language skills as they spent time with Japanese students learning English. They spent hours with them each day, teaching them and helping them practice pronunciation and comprehension. 25 students in this local school learned and grew from the interaction with native English speakers, setting them up for success in the professional world.
Mongolia
Shower House Construction

Hygiene in Mongolia is severely restricted in the harsh and severe winter conditions, especially among children. Malnutrition and poor hygiene typically cause decreased health and more disease, but HXP Builders worked in a local ger community this summer to combat that for coming years. By building a shower house for a local school and connecting with the community to ensure sustainable warm water for years to come, they established safe, warm shower and toilet facilities for 1,500 students to use throughout the year. The shower house will not only be a refuge of warmth for the local children, but it will promote hygiene and combat disease.
“In the beginning, I was wondering how can we build a good shower facility for the school and the neighborhood. After 1st and 2nd groups arrived in Mongolia and started the project, I found it was not only construction work but also people people-building project. I was thrilled with the children, who are coming far away from home, and working at the site and meeting local people was a wonderful opportunity for Mongolian people and the youth from the USA. Also, I found out our foremen were willing to build a quality building but same time they were trying to teach the children as much as they could. I noticed the leaders were engaging in the effort of creating a cheerful atmosphere among kids and many of the children from different parts of the states were becoming friends. I can see this project is a lot bigger than the shower we built for the school. It does benefit the 600 students and 3000 citizens in the village. But more than that, the youth or builders are experiencing amazing cultural and spiritual experiences. They visit the local church members and feed the spirit for the members and themselves. I am confident that this project will leave a building for many years but testimony for eternity among themselves and local members.
I think the project will benefit the builders more than the school children, who are receiving the “gift”. One way it is a great example of giving and the scripture says givers are blessed more than takers. For me, the builders are creating lifetime memories and donating a lot to the community. It is not only 2 weeks of labour but their parents are devoting a lot. They spent a big amount of money but more importantly, they are sending their son or daughter to a far country to do this hand labor. It can be scary for many parents. But their unselfish act leaves a beautiful mark on the community. If the children had not come and built this building, the school would most likely not have had this opportunity for a long time. Also, they will not know there are these beautiful acts in the world.
The builders are creating something that the Boy Scouting founder Baden Powell said once. Find something and make it better in the world. So, they are making changes in the world by doing good.”

Nepal
Dining Hall and Kitchen Construction

Working alongside the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco-Foundation (KRMEF), HXP Builders constructed a student dining hall and kitchen in a leprosy colony. KRMEF works in the leprosy colony to provide nutritious food, medical supplies, and education to children in the colony who are ostracized and restricted in society due to superstitions. This dining hall and kitchen will feed 186 children every day and allow for the 10-20% yearly growth the foundation sees to be properly accommodated.
“The dining hall and kitchen for the Ankurian Waldorf-inspired school’s children have been successfully completed through the collaborative efforts of HXP builders. This significant project provides a comfortable dining space for 186 children and 24 school teachers. The Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco-Foundation (KRMEF) expresses profound gratitude for the unwavering support and dedicated work of the HXP builders. Every participant involved in this project in Nepal has made a distinct contribution to the construction site. The KRMEF team, along with myself, extends heartfelt appreciation to each participant for their commendable efforts, which have been integral to the timely completion of the project. The individual contributions of each team to the various project stages are elegantly showcased in the accompanying visual documentation, speaking volumes about the collective accomplishment of this endeavor.”

Pilippines Cebu
Sanitation Facilities Construction

To combat both problems with education and sanitation/cleanliness, HXP Builders in Cebu built a nutritional center, classroom, and sanitation station in a local school. This local school currently has 3,000 students and before the additional sanitation stations were constructed, only 10 sinks for all students. These students now have a greater capacity to stay clean and adequately nourished, increasing their probability of staying in school and maintaining good health.
Philippines San Pablo
Nutrition and Sanitation Station Construction

This summer, HXP Builders constructed facilities within schools for the provision of food along with sanitation stations. This project addresses the nutritional needs of 245 children living in San Pablo. Through the establishment of these well-equipped spaces for meal provision, Builders contributed significantly to the fight against hunger and malnutrition, ensuring that these Filipino children have the vigor and concentration necessary for them to excel academically.
Thailand Chiang Mai
Classroom Construction

HXP Builders constructed classrooms in a local village in Thailand to alleviate the burden on teachers, offer more personalized education, and provide safer facilities. The current teacher-student ratio is 1:55, and the classrooms are unsafe because of the conditions they are in and how overcrowded they are. The work HXP Builders did make a difference in each student’s life.

Malaysia: Build
Garden Tower Construction

On the Malaysia: Build trip, HXP Builders has the unique opportunity to partner with local communities and build garden towers in various locations throughout the community. These garden towers serve as durable garden powerhouses to continuously nurture 120 plants each. The garden towers not only provide food for families in the community, but they also promote healthy eating and self-sustainability. By building these towers they were able to empower the community by teaching them valuable skills and giving them a sense of ownership of their contribution to the towers. They also were able to implement educational programs on sustainable agriculture, nutrition, and environmental conservation all while reducing the ecological footprint by promoting vertical gardening, which maximizes space and efficiency while minimizing the use of water. The “Garden Towers” project envisions a future where communities thrive with sustainable agriculture, empowered individuals, and improved overall well-being. By fostering self-sufficiency, this initiative aims to break the cycle of poverty and create a resilient, green oasis for generations to come.
Malaysia: Love
Outreach to the Blind and Deaf

Malaysia has a large population of both those in the blind and deaf communities, each individual seeks a sense of belonging and meaningful connection. HXP Builders had the chance to serve, love, and connect with over-blind individuals and an entire community of those who are deaf. Builders even learned MSL (Malaysian sign language) and provided social, recreational, and educational opportunities for these communities they grew to love with all their hearts.
Argentina De Nieve
Classroom Construction

HXP Builders constructed two additional classrooms at a local primary school in an effort to help a community that qualifies as part of the 40% of Argentina in poverty. In 2020 more than 360,000 students discontinued their schooling due to various factors including the pandemic and economic situation. As of 2021, more than 20% of those students had not yet returned to school. However, with the hard work of these builders, more students are able to further their education.
Argentina Patagonia
Community Support Center Construction

Builders in Argentina, Patagonia worked together to build a safe place to house minors who were victims of human trafficking. The building will be used to shelter minors and carry out treatments for victims and their families so that they can return to their homes healthier physically and mentally.
“HXP builders have had a very efficient task in every sense, from daily work on the project to actions within our community by being great examples for us all.
Their good disposition, charisma, and energy have all been transferred into the activities of church members. A good number of our young people have returned to the church thanks to your visits not only that but our youth have increased the testimony of the active by encouraging them to serve a mission.
All the people who have been able to interact with the builders from church leaders, families, government authorities, community leaders, restaurant owners, and the youth are so impressed by the young people of HXP and they continue to appreciate the work and great example of service.
As a Local Leader, all that remains for me is to send all builders, parents, and leaders a heartfelt hug for everything you have done, do with your presence and your heart a better place for our city of Posadas and also for our country.”

Bolivia Amazon
Classroom Construction

It is estimated that approximately 40,000 students in Bolivia are unable to attend school due to a lack of space where necessary, which cultivates difficult conditions for growth out of the vicious poverty cycle. The two classrooms that HXP Builders constructed this summer will provide opportunities for 120 new students to attend school in addition to the 350 students who already attend creating a pathway out of poverty now and for years to come.
Bolivia Corazon
Library Construction

On the Bolivia Corazon trip this summer, Builders created opportunities for students and local children with disabilities by building classrooms to specifically accommodate them. These classrooms immediately benefit 90 students by providing a space for children with disabilities to learn as well as alleviating the load of teachers in nearby classrooms. Families and communities will benefit from opportunities to work during the day with many future attendees to come.
Brazil Recife
Community Center Construction

Builders on the Brazil Recife trip this summer served the community in a suburb of Recife by constructing a community center to offer classes and help to locals in need. Brazil grapples with a concerning education situation, with 4 out of 10 children dropping out of school. These children, primarily from low-income households, often leave their education behind to enter the workforce and support their families. Families within this community face difficulties in finding job opportunities, securing adequate shelter, and gaining the skills needed to access jobs that can lift them out of poverty. In response to these pressing issues, HXP Builders are serving the community in a suburb of Recife, Brazil by constructing a community center to offer classes and help to those in need.
Brazil Santarem
Domestic Violence Community Center Construction

This summer HXP builders worked with CRAS in Santarem to construct two rooms for the service of social assistance. CRAS offers strategic support points where the population can seek assistance for issues ranging from social assistance to psychological and legal support. These centers play a crucial role in assisting families in situations of social vulnerability, offering support and referrals to various social programs. These rooms will serve more than 8 thousand people during the year, from all ages and families who receive benefits from federal government social programs. They will also be used to hold meetings, workshops and trainings to generate employment and financial income for families. In addition to being used for educational, cultural and recreational meetings. With its versatility, the center will have a meaningful impact on the community’s well-being.
Chile Patagonia
Classroom Construction

This summer, HXP Builders stepped in to make a significant impact by constructing additional classrooms for a local community. Ecuador Galapagos
Classroom Construction

HXP Builders on the Galapagos trip this summer worked hard to build two additional classrooms for an overcrowded, underfunded school in a rural area in Ecuador. The new classrooms will allow for 50 additional students to receive a quality education, essential for helping themselves and their families break the vicious cycle of poverty often seen in such small communities.
Paraguay Iguazu
Classroom Construction

The village near Asuncion where HXP Builders worked this summer is a rural, indigenous community. Due to the lack of space in the local schools, children grow up with little to no opportunity to do or pursue anything other than rural farming. The classrooms constructed in this community will provide local children with the opportunity to receive an education and hopefully escape the cycle of poverty they know to be normal. These additional classrooms will increase the school’s capacity and affect not only the immediate community, but generations of students to come.
Peru Inca
Classroom Construction

HXP Builders in Peru constructed additional classrooms for an overcrowded, underfunded school in an area where poverty is a growing concern for locals. The existing classrooms at this school were not only at full capacity based on a first-come first-serve basis, but they have been deemed potentially dangerous for students because of the conditions and lack of funding. Because of the work done in this school, 60 additional students will have a safe learning environment to propel them forward.
Peru Iquitos
Classroom Construction

In Panama, HXP Builders this summer built additional classrooms onto an already-existing, yet overcrowded school. This extension will allow for 50 more students to attend school, closing the poverty gap and providing steps toward a brighter future for countless families in the community.
Uruguay
Kitchen Facility Construction

There are nearly 700 soup kitchens across Uruguay, aiming to feed the large population still in a hunger crisis since COVID-19. At one point, they were feeding 55,000 people, almost 100 each. In response to this crisis, HXP Builders constructed a soup kitchen in a small community in Uruguay consisting of a small kitchen and a dining facility.
Belize Orange Walk
Classroom Construction

Builders on the Belize Orange Walk trip this summer built two new classrooms with the long-term goal of helping more students in rural communities complete their education. Due to less attention from teachers because of the big teacher-to-student ratio as well as uncomfortable learning environments, many youth do not complete their education. The additional two classrooms provide additional facilities at a previously flooded school to shrink that teacher-to-student ratio and promote higher retention of the 225 students that attend.
Belize Cayo
Classroom Construction

The classroom sizes in Belize are continually and rapidly increasing which is promising for the youth of the country, but taxing on the current educational facilities. HXP Builders constructed two additional classrooms with proper ventilation and cooling systems, as well as additional space to prevent overcrowding. The classrooms will alleviate the pressure on the current local school, and provide the 425 students who attend there a comfortable and safe learning environment.
Costa Rica Pura Vida
Classroom Construction

A typical school in Costa Rica has about 300 students split into 7-8 classrooms. On top of that, it is estimated that only 30% of students in Costa Rica graduate from high school. To combat these low completion rates, Builders constructed two classrooms and a bathroom for a local school in need. These classrooms will allow for a more comfortable and personal learning environment, as well as opportunities for teachers.
Costa Rica San Jose
Classroom Construction For Students With Special Needs

Builders on the Costa Rica San Jose trip this summer constructed an additional classroom specifically for students with disabilities at a local primary school.
This new school will provide a place for children with Down Syndrome to learn in an effective way that is tailored to them and their needs, as well as provide job opportunities for trained teachers and instructors. 150 students with Down Syndrome will receive care as a result of their hard work in the Dominican Republic this summer.

Dominican Republic Tamboril
Classroom Construction

In the Dominican Republic, 75 percent of students complete up to 4th grade but only 52 percent complete a full 8 years of elementary school. Builder in Tamboril built additional classrooms and learning space at a local school named Alta Gracia. This elementary school added 50-75 new students at the completion of the expansion of HXP’s project, allowing Alta Gracia to add 5th and 6th graders; a huge relief to families who now don’t need to find a new school after their children graduate from 4th grade.
Guatemala Mayan
Classroom Construction

In a rural Guatemalan community, a local primary school had been operating out of a small, inadequate house, making education a lower priority for families already struggling with poverty. The makeshift setting discouraged both students and their parents from attending regularly. To address this, HXP Builders stepped in this summer, constructing new classrooms to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment. These new facilities are helping to uplift the community by encouraging greater participation in education, giving the students a brighter future.
Guatemala Atitlan
Health Center Construction

HXP Builders in Guatemala constructed a health center in a small town this summer. In Guatemala, there is one hospital bed for every 2,500 people and most clinics only have one or two. Furthermore, healthcare in rural areas is slim to none because of the lack of clinics, forcing doctors to work in the cities. This health center blesses the lives of locals who currently travel many miles (often by foot) to visit a health center in a neighboring large city.
Panama Bella Vista
Classroom Construction

In Panama, HXP Builders this summer built additional classrooms onto an already-existing, yet overcrowded school. This extension will allow for 50 more students to attend school, closing the poverty gap and providing steps toward a brighter future for countless families in the community.
Fiji Nadi
Women’s Shelter Construction

In Fiji this summer, HXP Builders constructed a three-block classroom for a women’s center called the Loloma Center. This space, used for classes, support meetings, and cyclone shelter, will serve many women in the community providing a place of refuge and community to local women who have suffered abuse or are in need of resources and support.
“This project means a great deal to me personally. It aligns deeply with my values and beliefs, centered around following the Savior and embodying his teachings through service. Engaging in this project has been a way for me to live out these principles by dedicating my efforts to supporting and uplifting neglected and abused mothers and children who are without homes. It has been an opportunity to make a tangible difference in their lives, providing them with the care and support they so desperately need. The chance to serve and build a better future for these vulnerable individuals has been both profoundly rewarding and a testament to the power of compassion and commitment.
This project has provided individuals in our community with much more than just practical support—it has given them hope, courage, and motivation. By offering a loving home to those who have been neglected or abused, we’ve not only addressed immediate needs but also inspired a renewed sense of purpose and belief in the value of life. The transformation we’ve witnessed is profound: individuals now have the stability and support to envision a brighter future and to embrace life with renewed optimism. The project has fostered a sense of belonging and security, showing that with compassion and dedicated effort, we can profoundly impact lives and strengthen our community as a whole.
The Builders have been invaluable during a critical time for the individuals at Loloma Home, who were facing significant challenges. Their presence was no coincidence; they were here to fulfill a crucial responsibility, bringing their diverse talents and unwavering dedication to the task. They embodied the teachings of the Savior through their actions, and their commitment has deeply strengthened my own testimony. These remarkable individuals left their families and traveled great distances to create a place of refuge for those in need. Their hard work, combined with the joy and camaraderie we shared, made this journey both rewarding and memorable. They have become more than just colleagues—they are now my extended family. The bonds we formed and the impact we made together will always hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you for everything you’ve done and for being a beacon of hope throughout this project. Your dedication and compassion have made an incredible difference. On those challenging days, I hope you can reflect on this experience and remember the positive impact you’ve had on me and others. Let those memories inspire you and keep you moving forward, knowing that your efforts have truly transformed lives and created a lasting legacy.

Fiji Taveuni
Classroom Construction

This summer, HXP Builders in Taveuni constructed additional classrooms for an overcrowded and underfunded school. These additional classrooms give students more space to learn and allow 251 total students between new and returning children to get an education. In addition to being an important educational component in the community, this space will provide shelter from natural disasters like cyclones and tropical storms to keep the community safe.
“The project means so much to me and the carpenters and the builders for leaving behind a project that will benefit the children of Somosomo District School today and those children of tomorrow. I first take this time to thank the Bigham family for such a Godly incite. Thank you HXP team at HQ for the hard work in making this project a reality for the community. Making their dream come true in bringing half the school down to the village. They are asking to have another three classrooms so they can have the whole school back down. Words cannot express the words of appreciation from the community, the school faculties, the school committee, the parents, and the children for the completed project. The Builders to me are the backbone of the project, when each group arrives they are always ready for work. They are machinery that completes each face of the project. They bring with them excitement, enthusiasm and just being ready to execute their face of the work. My message to each group was ” PLEASE, WHEN EACH OF YOU RETURN HOME PLEASE GIVE A BIG HUG TO YOUR PARENTS OR ANYONE ELSE THAT MADE it POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO BE HERE” And I hope that each one of them will do just that. Please let all of them know that I love the whole 121 builders that came together with outstanding trip leaders and mum and dads that accompanied them. If I had time I would name them one by one the whole 121 of them.
MY QUOTE: Mosiah 2: 17 Each one of them knew the Saviour and each one did their best to deliver in whatever capacity they best could. Love YOU all 121 BUILDERS, 4 CARPENTERS THAT TEACH AND MINGLE WELL WITH THE BUILDERS. VINAKA, AND VINAKA VAKALEVU.”

Samoa Apia
Medical and Counseling Center Construction

Samoan culture is loving, welcoming, and friendly, but a problem within the country is a lack of treatment and advocacy against domestic violence. HXP Builders in Samoa will partner with a support group for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse to build a medical and counseling center. Because of the work done by Builders in Samoa, treatment and healing for affected women and children can occur along with awareness being raised for the protection of future women.
“This project is actually a medical center for the victim support kids… for the past years they have been taking kids to the national hospital to see a doctor and also pregnant teenagers. It has been a real struggle for them because they always make a scene every time they go because they have to be accompanied by a police officer and also the victim support workers so they will all know it’s someone from this place and people here really love to stare .. but building this medical center will open up the opportunity to actually have the doctors come to this medical center for medical check up for kids and also pregnant teens…and to also keep them away from the public eye.. it’s truly a dream come true for the victim support to have this building built for them by HXP
These builders are truly amazing and they are actually God’s ministering angels on this earth.. they really bring true joy and happiness to these less fortunate kids.. and I’m so grateful for them for all that they do without any doubt that true joy comes from serving others. I am also so blessed to be able to help serve them in any way possible to make sure that what they do is out of their pure hearts and their love for others and for The Lord and that we all can help contribute in any way to continue to build Gods kingdom on earth. I know that this is exactly how the Lord wants us to live on this earth… to serve others as much as we can to serve the Lord and not expect anything in return”

Samoa Upolu
Classroom Construction

Only 12% of Samoans are formally employed, and the rest of them rely on informal income or side jobs to sustain themselves and support their families. Education is the beginning of a solution to this. HXP Builders in Samoa Upolu this year constructed additional learning spaces at a local school. Most children in Samoa are already attending school, but this particular facility only has one classroom where children of all ages learn together. With more space, students are receiving a more personalized and effective education experience.
“This classrooms was proposed by the principle and staff for close to 10 years now…they look for the government grant but fail and others like Japanese counselor EU but still no help available. Then I met the principle last year and introduced HXP and HXP accept their plea about the classrooms. Hxp gives them a chance they need to educate more students about 60 more students to start school next year. The builders were a gift for me and the school..they help build these 3 rooms ..they work hard even though its their first time mixing cement by hand …laying blocks ..sifting sand…many of them its their first time using a hammer…and I felt sorry for some of them hit their hand by a hammer while trying to knock nails downs … I really appreciate ALL THE BUILDERS they left their family and come thousands of miles to help me and the samoans carpenter. Tonga Fua’amotu
Home Construction

Just two years ago in 2022, the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha’api volcano erupted, destroying over 300 homes and even more families. Many families in Tonga live under the same roof, meaning hundreds of families and their livelihoods were displaced without funds to rebuild. HXP Builders this summer constructed homes for the displaced residents of Tonga as well as assisted with home renovations for those in need in the community because of the volcano. 3 significant homes were worked on, drastically changing the lives of the families that reside there.
“The HXP project for the year 2024 has given this community the opportunity to be united with their families and sheltered from the many uncertainties locals face on a daily basis that contributes to lack of homes. We take part in becoming the hands for those who cannot help themselves and this is a good enough reason for motivation to accomplish this project. On a personal note, this project has given my family support to improve our services whether it be through catering, accommodation, or building those houses planned for the year. My family has been blessed and we are humbled by this opportunity to be part of this amazing project. I salute all builders who had sacrificed their summer to be here in Tonga with us to help provide homes for locals in unfortunate circumstances. From the first group to the last, these builders have instilled a feeling of appreciation for both my family and the community where they have served. Your support and collaboration have been invaluable to us, and we are grateful for the trust you placed in our services. As the project comes to an end for the year 2024, we want to extend our best wishes for your future endeavors. We are committed to maintaining a never ending relationship with you.
I would like to leave with you builders one important thing. This is a quote from a talk given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf who was at that time the Second Counselor in the First Presidency titled “In Praise of Those Who Save”. He said “As we emulate the Savior’s love, He will surely bless and prosper our righteous efforts to save our marriages and strengthen our families.” Know that what you have done here in Tonga for these families is an example of emulating the Savior’s love and we are grateful for all you do. In the utmost respect, Peauafi Tuitavake”

“Growing up poor is not new to us islanders because we grew up in houses made from coconut leaves except for a few privileged ones. As time went by, developments came and most families were fortunate to elevate themselves to a better living condition, except for some who could not never afford a modern house due to lack of financial means, lack of employment or not having the financial support from families and relatives that could help give them a better living condition no matter how hard they tried. These are the people that matters to HXP and the ones we try to make a difference in their lives. From living in a shack with no floor, leaking roofs, rotten walls and tiny spaces to a nice brick solid 2-bedroom house, is something beyond their wildest dreams. I shared with one of the trip leaders that a community project may not have the same impact as houses for families (especially in Tonga) because when you gift a family a house, you are gifting the community and that personal feeling of ownership is incomparable. HXP and the builders made it possible for the next few generations of these families to grow up in a better daily living condition. The stigma of being labeled as “poverty” is removed. I will forever be grateful for this job that enables me to cross paths with wonderful souls like all of you guys at headquarters, and all the builders, parents and trip leaders in making a difference in my people’s lives. The Tulikihakau family of Makapaeo, Tone and Tupou of Hofoa and the widow Mana and her kids at Haalalo, all have you guys to thank for everything and for sacrificing your time, money, summer, and energy so you can make the biggest impact in the lives of the unfortunate. Words will never be enough to describe the feeling of gratitude and humility I have with my family, as being part of this journey. In the words of Mosiah, “And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart. You all have been incredible and I love you all. Until next summer, May you all have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year. ‘Ofa atu always”

Vanuatu
Classroom Construction

Vanuatu is known for its naturally beautiful landscapes, but due to its location in the Pacific Ocean and in the Ring of Fire, it is chronically prone to natural disasters like cyclones. In just 9 months of 2023, it was hit by 5 cyclones in addition to volcanoes and droughts. Although these have not been extremely life-threatening, they have left the affected communities with extensive damage. HXP Builders in Vanuatu this summer constructed new classrooms for students whose previous learning centers had been destroyed in cyclones. They will help many students and families re-establish education and assist in helping them rebuild their lives following the disasters.
Almost Heaven, West Virginia
Home Repairs

The socioeconomic ratings in the rural communities in West Virginia are extremely low due to the primary income of coal mining. Builders worked hard this summer to provide warm, safe, and stable housing improvements to residents there! Partnering with the Southern Appalachia Labor School (SALS), HXP Builders helped repair and improve two significant home projects in the community.
Lone Star, Texas
Wheelchair Accessibility Construction

Across the state, and especially in the McAllen Region, the Texas Ramp Project (TRP) receives more requests for ramps than they are able to build. This summer, HXP Builders partnered with them to construct ramps for those in need. The recipients faced steep steps and unsafe ramps that hindered their ability to leave. HXP Builders helped TRP reach many clients in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. With the new ramps, these individuals have a reliable and safe way to enter and exit their homes. This helps them gain independence and overall improve their quality of life.
OBX (Outer Banks)
Food Bank Renovation

Food insecurity in Wilmington is a pressing issue that affects many in the community. Fortunately, local food distribution centers are stepping up to assist those in need as well as local grocery stores that donate food. In fact, it’s not uncommon for residents to wait for many hours along the highway just to secure a meal from the food bank.
To enhance these essential services, builders have partnered with Lighthouse Shining Ministers to renovate the facility, creating a more welcoming environment for visitors. Their improvements include building a new deck, fresh paint, updated flooring, and a renovated playground and outdoor landscaping. These upgrades not only make the space more inviting but also allow staff to focus more effectively on helping those in need. With these efforts, the facility is better equipped to serve the community and provide much-needed support.
Romania Bucharest: Refuge
Volunteering in a Community Center

Since the start of the conflict in Europe, Ukrainian refugees have been fleeing to Romania and are in need of a lot of help. Builders in Romania worked with various non-profit organizations to bless the lives of these refugees in many different ways. From volunteering with children in schools, providing workshops and recovery classes for mothers and children, and organizing packages of donations for civilians.
Romania Transylvania: Refuge
Volunteering in a Community Center

HXP builders volunteered in a community center that provides psycho-social support, activities for children and teenagers, art therapy, English classes, and other activities to help integrate refugees from Ukraine. Besides working with the Ukrainian refugees, HXP builders will work with the entire community of Baia Mare, a community that has taken in many of these refugees. Builders also provided service to other vulnerable groups including those with disabilities, the elderly, and the Roma community, Romania’s largest community.
