This is information about the Staff Miami House, an optional service for only the following trips:
- Belize Cayo
- Belize Belmopan
- Panama
- Brazil Milagre West
- Brazil Milagre East
- Paraguay
Your Builder’s trip meetup airport is the Miami International Airport (MIA). We understand that most flights into MIA arrive at inconvenient times, and to be at the airport at the scheduled start time, Builders often need to stay overnight in Miami. Finding a hotel can be difficult, especially for minors, so we’ve come up with a solution.
This summer, HXP will be renting a home near the MIA airport for Builders to stay at if they choose to fly in a day before their group’s meetup date. This will be our fourth year doing this, and the home is located conveniently near the airport and will be staffed by HXP leaders and office members.
Things to Know
- Cost: $130 per night
- Transportation to and from the Miami airport is included (HXP Staff will coordinate transportation with the phone number your Builder has listed in their Builder Portal)
- A light continental breakfast will be available each morning, so make sure your Builder packs snacks and eats dinner at the airport before they get picked up by HXP Staff
- The Miami House can sleep 12 Builders and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Bookings can only take place when you are within 90 days of your trip.
- Because of the limited space, the Miami House is reserved for solo youth Builders needing to spend the night – not a place for Builders to shower, take a nap, or a hang out spot during a long layover etc.
- Parent Builders cannot book a stay in the Miami House.
- Bookings are non-refundable and will be paid upon calling.
- The earliest time our team can pick you up is 2:00 PM and the latest time our team can pick you up is 1:00 AM (if there are delays, we will be in contact with your Builder).
It is important to recognize this is a service HXP is offering. Your Builder will be responsible for entertaining and taking care of themselves before the trip officially starts. HXP will not have a planned itinerary/meals for the Builders, and there may be circumstances where Builders may need to sleep on couches or air mattresses. This won’t be a top-tier hotel experience, but we will do our best to accommodate Builders to ensure that everyone arrives safely to MIA by the group’s meetup time. While the “Miami Home” is an HXP-sponsored lodging option, it is simple and is solely meant to be a place for Builders to sleep as they wait for the official start of their trip.
The trip does not start until the meet-up time at the airport. It cannot be guaranteed that the rule of three will be enforced due to varying circumstances.
All that being said, we are excited to offer this service again for a second year! We will work hard to make sure your Builders can get to their groups safely and on time.
How to Reserve
If you’re interested in reserving a spot for your Builder, please call the HXP office at (801) 900-4111 (Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm MT and Fridays, 9:30 am – 2:00 pm MT). Spots at the home are fairly limited, and reservations will be first come, first served. We will do our best to accommodate as many Builders as we can. Reservations and payments must be taken over the phone, only beginning 90 days before trip departure.
