2027 Project Story: Argentina Iguazu North

November 2026

Nearly 59% of primary school students in Argentina struggle to read and understand a simple text by the end of primary grade levels, pointing to a profound learning crisis across the country ¹. This educational gap is further worsened by ongoing economic fluctuation and infrastructure shortages, leaving public schools in under-resourced provinces struggling to provide adequate, uncrowded learning environments ². Low-income families depend heavily on these local public institutions to offer well-equipped classrooms that can support their children's foundational learning and long-term development ³.

In the Misiones Region, high rates of informal employment leave peripheral communities particularly vulnerable, making local public schools a vital lifeline ⁴. In one particular community, educational resources are stretched way past their limits ⁵. At one provincial primary school serving nearly 90 children, a severe space shortage forces different grade levels to squeeze into single rooms—putting 4th and 5th graders together in one space and 6th and 7th graders in another—while other classes have to meet outside and hopeful new students get put on waiting lists.

To help address this, HXP Builders will construct a brand-new, two-classroom school block on the open ground next to the campus kitchen. This expansion will create dedicated, quiet learning spaces so every single grade can finally have its own room and teacher, bringing an end to combined classes and outdoor lessons. By opening up more room on campus, Builders will make it possible for waitlisted kids to enroll and get a quality primary education.
