Accessibility
Our commitment
Humanitarian Experience (HXP) wants every Builder, parent, and Trip Leader to be able to use hxp.org, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We test the site with automated tools and by hand, and we fix problems as we find them.
What we've done
- Every page works with a keyboard, with a "skip to main content" link at the top.
- Meaningful images have text descriptions, and form fields have labels.
- Text and buttons are checked for color contrast.
- Anything that moves on its own has a pause button, and it stays still if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Pages resize for phones and for zoom up to 400% without sideways scrolling.
Other sites we link to
Some things, like registration, the trip catalog, YouTube videos, and our swag shop, run on partner platforms. We ask those partners to meet the same standard, and we'll help you directly if one of them gets in your way.
Need help or found a problem?
If anything on this site is hard to use, tell us what page you were on and what happened. We'll get you the information or help you need another way, and we'll work on a fix. We aim to reply within two business days.
