Across Thailand, expanding quality early childhood education is a vital key for empowering young learners and setting up future academic success ¹. While primary completion rates nationwide exceed 93%, national education assessments from the World Bank reveal severe quality gaps between urban centers and rural areas, where aging school facilities and unequal access to resources hinder early development ². In low-income agricultural provinces, expanding early childhood infrastructure remains a top national priority to ensure young children build strong cognitive skills, transition smoothly into primary school, and break cycles of rural poverty ³.
In the Udon Thani province of northeastern Thailand, rural agricultural communities face persistent economic pressures, with local poverty rates reaching 4.65%—notably higher than the national average ⁴. At one dedicated local primary school serving over 110 students, existing structures have severely deteriorated due to age and extensive termite damage. During the peak of the hot season, the current kindergarten spaces become uncomfortably warm for young children, compromising their daily learning environment. With local leaders preparing to expand early childhood enrollment next year to support working farming families, the campus desperately lacks the physical capacity to safely house incoming four- to six-year-olds.
To solve this space shortage, HXP Builders will construct a dedicated two-classroom kindergarten block equipped with two integrated indoor restrooms. Built with modern, heat-resistant materials and solid foundations, this purpose-built facility provides a cool, safe, and vibrant home for early learning and play. By expanding the campus infrastructure, this project gives local children a solid educational foundation while helping the school welcome up to 30 new kindergarteners every year.
